The World Bank-New India Nexus: Airy Propositions, and Critical Commentaries Under the Radar

Author(s) Dr. Annavajhula J C Bose, Dr. Ravinder Jha
Country India
Abstract We sketchily delineate here a controversial research agenda for the fourth year undergraduate economics students to take up for deeper scrutiny. We do this by contrasting the World Bank’s storytelling and New India policymaking in step with it, with critical commentaries that have emerged against them. We surmise that this will enable the students to come to terms with their critical thinking deficit, and think anew as to what economics of development should be.
