| Abstract | The study investigated teacher's perception of school leadership styles at a selected private international boarding school in Zambia's Central Province and examined the subsequent influence of these styles on teacher motivation downstream learner outcomes. Guided by Self Determination Theory (SDT) and the Full Range Leadership Model (FRLM), the inquiry analysed administrative behaviors and their influence on educators' core psychological requirements for autonomy, competence and relatedness. A qualitative case study design, embedded in in interpretivist paradigm was deployed and data collected from 15 participants who included the principal, three Heads of Departments, five teachers and ten pupils using semi-structures interviews, Focus group Discussion and a comprehensive document analysis. The findings demonstrated that transformative leadership behaviors act as the primary structural catalyst tor teachers' motivation, pedagogical self-efficacy and instructional innovation while transactional governance frameworks established a baseline operational structure that provides necessary institutional stability and administrative accountability. The analysis substantiated a systemic Teacher-Pupil Ripple Effect where the internal psychological state and autonomous motivation of the instructor directly modulate the classroom climate and student engagement. The study recommended that school authority restructure teacher evaluation metrics from monitoring to mentorship dialogic and formalise collaborative shared governance networks across the private education sub-sector |
