| Abstract | Abstract Social entrepreneurs address pressing societal challenges by developing innovative solutions that drive change. This study examines how social innovation (SI) and attitudes towards social awareness (ATSA) relate to social entrepreneurial intention (SEI) among Generation Z in India. It highlights education and awareness as pathways to youth engagement. A quantitative research design was adopted, and data were collected via an online questionnaire from 440 university students aged 18–30 enrolled in public and private institutions. Participants were selected using simple random sampling. Responses were coded and analysed in SPSS and SmartPLS. The model explained approximately 80% of the variance in SEI, indicating substantial explanatory power within the study sample. The results showed significant relationships between ATSA and SEI (β = 0.266, t = 3.108, p < 0.002) and between SI and SEI (β = 0.578, t = 6.754, p < 0.001). A further effect involving ATSA and SI was also significant (β = 0.458, t = 6.398, p < 0.001). These findings underscore the relevance of social awareness and innovation in fostering social entrepreneurial intentions. The study recommends that policymakers and universities strengthen social entrepreneurship education, provide appropriate resources, and encourage active community engagement among young people. |
