Abstract Abstract
Sandalwood is a highly sacred plant. It holds great significance in India, as it is revered in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Since ancient times, it has been utilized in Unani, Ayurvedic, and traditional rural systems of medicine. Various studies have demonstrated its efficacy in memory enhancement and its hepatoprotective, antibiotic, anti-ulcer, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory properties; it is also used to treat various urinary tract disorders. Additionally, it is used globally for its fragrance such as in soaps and perfumes—and in skincare applications. It is truly a highly beneficial plant.
