| Abstract | Family planning is pivotal in improving reproductive health outcomes and achieving sustainable population growth. In India, Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) are the primary public health institutions tasked with providing family planning services, particularly in underserved rural regions. This study investigates the effectiveness of PHCs and CHCs in delivering these services by conducting an in-depth analysis of secondary data from national health databases, including the Health Management Information System (HMIS), National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), and Rural Health Statistics (RHS) 2022. The analysis reveals disparities in service availability, contraceptive prevalence, and infrastructure quality across regions. It also identifies critical gaps in workforce deployment and method mix utilization. The findings highlight the need for improved resource allocation, targeted policy implementation, and strategic health communication to optimize the performance of PHCs and CHCs in achieving India’s family planning goals. |
