ATTITUDE TOWARDS SEXUALITY AMONG YOUNG ADULTS

Abstract	Sexual violence and abuses were increased day by day in this society. This study focused to evaluate the sexuality related attitude of youngsters. Questionnaire method was used in this study to collect data. Attitude towards sexuality was assessed by using Sexual Attitude Scale (SAS), developed by Amit Abraham (1987). The study was conducted on a group of young adults (N= 427) including males (N=196) and females (N=231). The mean age of participants were 23 years. Convenient sampling method was used to select participants for the study. The study found that males have higher level of attitude towards premarital sex and pornography compared to females. Unmarried individuals show higher attitude towards premarital sex, polygamy and pornography compared to married individuals. The age group 21-25 shows higher attitude towards premarital sex. Further it was found that postgraduates have higher attitude towards premarital sex and polygamy compared to other groups.
