Abstract Dalit activism in academia has emerged as a significant sociological phenomenon, reflecting the historical struggles and achievements of the marginalized Dalit community within higher education. This paper presents a sociological analysis of Dalit activism in university’s campuses, exploring its multifaceted dimensions and implications. By examining the historical context, representation and inclusion, identity politics, pedagogy, institutional bias, affirmative action policies, intersectionality, and alliances, the study sheds light on the challenges and opportunities faced by Dalit activists in their quest for social justice and equality. Through this analysis, the paper aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in addressing caste-based discrimination in academic spaces and fostering a more inclusive and equitable educational environment for all.
