| Abstract | The life of baby revenues a new life to save persons life which is one time opportunity the antibodies are the passage ways from the placenta to the umbilical cord and this antibodies provide immunity to the baby a month after the birth. A descriptive study was conducted to assess the level of knowledge regarding Umbilical cord blood banking among final year B.sc Nursing students at selected nursing colleges of Koppal, Karnataka. Aim of the study was to assess the present knowledge regarding umbilical Cord blood banking among final year B.sc Nursing students - A simple descriptive research design was adopted and purposive sampling technique was used to collect the data from 100 final year students of selected nursing colleges of Koppal, Karnataka The data was collected, organised and analysed in term of descriptive and inferential Statistics, findings revealed that 81% of the sample had inadequate knowledge scores and 17% had moderate knowledge scores and 2 % had adequate knowledge regarding Umbilical Cord blood Banking. It was found that there is no Significant association between Knowledge score and there demographic variables hence the formulated research hypothesis H1 was rejected and the null hypothesis H0 was accepted. Study Concluded that an attempt should be made to educate the final year -BSC nursing Students to gain complete knowledge regarding Umbilical Cord Blood Banking. |
