Dalith Theatre: A Theatrical Discourse on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Ideology

Abstract The language of Theatre could be the best medium to reach out to the literate as well as illiterate section of the society. Hence it would be the most appropriate medium to articulate the feeling of suffering of the Dalit’s. Theatrical performances not only utilized for entertainment but also became an important medium for transformation in the life of Dalit’s. It can also be utilized for socio-economic and political transformation in the life of Dalit’s. Dalit’s utilized theatrical performances to disclose their suffering and to make them conscious about their status and their identity. Here theatre became a vehicle to bring transformation in society. Since the later part of nineteenth century, theatrical performances became an important medium to represent socio-economic and political issues.
