| Abstract | Research Summary Reservation Policies are an important issue in Indian society, which not only is an important step towards social justice, but it also has a profound impact on the employment sector. The aim of this study is to understand the impact of Reservation Policies in Public Employment and Promotions on the Mental Health of Job Aspirants and Current Employees. Under reservation policies, special categories are given preference in jobs and promotions, thereby providing opportunities to the weaker sections of the society. However, these policies can sometimes cause mental stress and insecurity. Job aspirants who are not beneficiaries of reservation may have an increased fear of failure and a sense of competition. As a result, they may face mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. At the same time, this situation can be complicated for employees who are beneficiaries of reservation as well. They may have doubts about their skills and abilities, which can make them lose confidence in their work. Additionally, facing discrimination and prejudice at the workplace can also affect their mental health. The paper is conceptual and critical, specifically studying secondary data sources, which are based on a wide range of peer-reviewed journals, conference papers and reliable internet databases. These secondary sources include research papers and dissertations, research books and other websites. In this study, the subject has been analysed from various perspectives, which include psychological, social and economic aspects. An attempt has also been made to see how policies can be improved to promote positive mental health. Ultimately, this study will not only highlight the impact of reservation policies, but also suggest how an inclusive and supportive work environment can be created that strengthens the mental health of all employees. Thus, this research will not only be important for policy makers but will also serve as a source of awareness for all sections of society, so that every individual can move towards a healthy and balanced workplace. |
