Abstract In the digital age, political memes have become a common form of communication, especially among young people on social media. By using humour, satire, and visuals, memes spread political messages quickly and in a way that is easy to understand. They are widely shared online and often focus on political leaders, parties, and important issues. This study examines how political memes present these leaders and parties, the main themes they highlightsuch as support, criticism, or jokesand how these themes attract the attention of young audiences.
The research also explores the effect of political memes on young people’s knowledge, opinions, and participation in politics. Memes can make politics more interesting and accessible by simplifying complex topics and presenting them in a fun and creative way. At the same time, they can also spread misinformation, reinforce stereotypes, or promote biased views. This study shows that political memes are more than just entertainment; they are now an important tool of political communication. The findings suggest that while memes can engage and influence young people, their use should be more responsible and ethical to ensure positive political awareness and participation.
