Abstract A key component of sustainable development, Environmental Accounting provides an organized approach to quantify and report on how corporate operations affect the environment. Since environmental accounting helps firms identify their environmental impacts, improve resource efficiency, and increase transparency and accountability, its importance in supporting sustainability efforts cannot be understated. Determining the several ways that environmental and green accounting might support and guarantee sustainable growth is the primary objective of this study. Based on the review of existing knowledge, this descriptive study has examined environmental accounting and sustainable development. The review’s overall summary states that good environmental accounting procedures are essential for sustainable growth. Significant environmental costs are often overlooked by most businesses, according to the results. Using good green practice accounting is essential.
