How Faith Based Higher Education Institutions Respond to Globalization and Internationalization in the Caribbean

Author(s) Ms. Melinda Marcelle Lake
Country Philippines
Abstract Faith-based universities in the Caribbean must balance their religious mission with regional needs and global changes. This theoretical paper examines how these institutions can participate in globalization and internationalization without weakening their faith-based identity or allowing financial interests to replace their educational and social responsibilities. It argues that internationalization works best when it is guided by the institution’s mission, adapted to Caribbean realities, and focused on shared learning and service. Global engagement can improve teaching, research, intercultural skills, institutional capacity, and regional development.
